Processing takes 1 to 2 business days (orders placed after 4 p.m. ET are processed the next business day). You’ll get a shipment notification email with a tracking number as soon as your package ships.
Sorry about that! Occasionally, the shipping carrier takes an extra day or two to register your shipment status. If your tracking number isn’t updating or working, please reach out as soon as you can at support@crownpaint.ca and we’ll get things squared away.
We ship paint and supplies orders above $75 free.
For the Samples adhesive swatches and apparel, we offer $2 shipping via USPS (3-5 business days). We also have an expedited option via FedEx Ground (1-3 business days) for $5.
Paint and supplies orders over $75 ship free via FedEx Ground (1-3 business days) and just $5 if below $75. We also offer expedited shipping options if you’re really in a rush to get started; those charges are calculated based on what you’re buying and where you are. You’ll pay for the rush shipment, but it’s still probably better than going to the hardware store. Shoot us a note if you want to do overnight.
At this time, we do not ship to P.O Boxes.

At Louisxv, we spent a lot of our time carefully choosing the best colours for your space. We chose colours that we would actually use on our own space.

Paint samples can be very expensive and messy if you do not know what you want. We created swatch sticker samples to make it easier for you by giving you an idea of what the paint will look like on your wall for a fraction of the time and money you spend on actual paint samples.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are gases emitted from certain solids or liquids.
All paints are basically made up of solvents, resins, and pigments. Solvents serve as the liquid vehicle, resins serve to create a tight bond with the painting surface, and pigments create the paint color. Our paints are all water-based (latex), made with high quality acrylic resins and the best pigments. Most paints today are water-based, where as many older paints were oil based. The best way to dispose of extra paint is to make sure it is fully dry before disposal. You can also mix a hardener with your paint (ex: Cat Litter) to make sure you're safely disposing paint.
Stored in the right conditions (i.e. no extreme cold or heat) in a sealed container, paint will be good for several years. Our cans are stainless steel for rust resistance and come with an air tight security seal under the cap for maximum protection. After opening, there are several factors that could impact the shelf life (air exposure, temperature, how much paint is in the container, etc), but it will likely remain usable for about a year.
Yep. Just remember you primarily only need to consider a primer if you're painting over new dry wall, unpainted wood surface, an excessively glossy paint, your walls have stains or damage, or you're making a drastic color change and want a base coat to reset.

We’ve spent a lot of time narrowing down the overwhelming selection of supplies at the hardware store and then creating the highest quality possible of every item we offer. Supplies really are one of the most important parts of a great paint job, so we’ve set you up for success.
Our paints are ultra low odor and low-VOC(LEED Certified), meeting the most stringent standards set by Canada Green Building Council.
Exterior paint is optimized for exterior surfaces, which are exposed to harsher conditions such as changing temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Our exterior formulation has all the great characteristics of our interior paint, but built to withstand those harsher conditions as well.
Yes there is! If you do not like the paint, we will take it back.

If you’d like to make any changes to your recently completed order, send us a note at hello@backdrophome.com as soon as possible. Our fulfillment center processes orders quickly, so sooner is better. Order changes or cancellations are subject to a potential $15 fee if made after things get in motion with our warehouse.
Deadlines stress us out, so we aren’t going to give one to you. You can return any unopened paint and any unused and unopened supplies. Our paint cans have a security seal under the cap. There will just be a $10 restocking fee per gallon returned and/or a $10 restocking fee per order for supplies returned. Original order shipping fees are also non-refundable. Sample swatches and apparel are final sale.
If your order benefitted from volume based pricing discounts, based on your return your refund amount will be impacted by adjusting quantities that could result in the removal of quantity-based discounts.
